Note:   FAHIE, David Keating - 85, Saint Vincent's Nursing Home, formerly of Albert Street, Halifax, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 22, 2008. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Fulton and Katherine (Keating) Fahie. He is survived by his beloved wife, Violet (Patterson); daughter, Christina (Ivan) Harper; son, Gary (Jacqueline) Fahie; brother, Frank (Gloria) Fahie; granddaughters, Margaret and Nicole, and great-granddaughter, Maya. He was predeceased by brothers, Donald and Benjamin, and grandson, Grant David. David was a devoted Catholic and a member of the former Saint Joseph's Parish, Halifax. He was a lifelong member and secretary-treasurer of R.S.E.S. Canada, Nova Scotia Chapter. David enjoyed over 40 years of service at HMC Dockyard and was a long-standing member of the Dockyard Management Association. Amongst his hobbies, he particularly enjoyed his seasonal fishing trips with family and friends, as well as sailing the coast of Nova Scotia and many other areas on the Eastern Seaboard. Other hobbies included bowling and a definite love of music. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, in Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish Church, 6032 Normandy Dr. (corner of Normandy Drive and Robie Street), Rev. Gilbert Bertrand, O.M.I. officiating. Thank you to the staff of Saint Vincent's Nursing Home and a special thanks to the 2nd floor for your loving care. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society.
