Covey, fisherman, East Dover, passed away at V.G. Hospital after a short illness, on January 28. Son of Alfred Covey and Elizabeth Johnson, he was born at Indian Harbour. Highly regarded and a valued member of the community, he was a member of the Anglican Church. He was predeceased by his wife Hilda P. Keddy, by 23 years. Mr. Covey also lost a daughter and two sons in the tragic Halifax Explosion. Surviving are two daughters, Mildred, Mrs. Frederick R. Tanner, and Marguerite, Mrs. Noah A. Graves, East Dover. Two brothers, Ernest, Lunenburg, and Melvin. Funeral was held from his home in East Dover with interment at Boutilier's Cove cemetery. Burial services were conducted by the Rev. T. Pilkington.
