Note:   FAHIE, Maurice Raymond "Ray" - 87. The nieces, nephews and their spouses sadly announce the passing of Uncle Ray on Sunday, January 27, 2008, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, Uncle Ray was a son of the late Maurice and Vera (Crooks) Fahie. He worked for Kline's Department Store for over 30 years. His passion and love of music fit well with his love of St. Patrick's Church, where he was Organist and Choir Master for 60 odd years. In recent years Uncle Ray was involved in the St. Patrick's Church Restoration Society and was very committed to doing all he could to ensure St. Pat's remained open. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been predeceased by sisters, Muriel (in infancy) and Marie (Fred) Tanner, and brother, Fraser (all of Halifax). Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 2267 Brunswick St., Halifax, on Saturday, February 2, at 10 a.m. with Father George Leach presiding. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors on 8.4. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Patrick's Church Restoration Society or QEII Foundation - Pulmonary Care. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
