Collins,- My name is Judy McCleary (neeWILTON) and as you can see I live in faroff Australia. Whilst undertaking some research work at the Gen. group I belong to yesterday I came across your name in the Cornwall family history magazine. It gives your name and address as being a contact point for information on the Wilton family in the Liskeard area. I am undertaking a family search of the Wilton family (my branch) and have linked it back to my g.g.grandfather a John Wilton who married in Liskeard in 1839. The details I have on him are as follows- JOHN WILTON sailed to Tasmania on the "Orleana" from England on 21.3.1842 arrived 3.7.1842. He was 27 years, of age, a farmer able to read. He had with him his wife MARY (LOBB) age 21yrs. and a daughter MARY ANN age 2yrs. He married Mary Lobb in Sept. of 1839 in the parish of Liskeard. I have requested a copy of their marriage reg. but do not have it yetso can give no other information. I have details of his life in Tas, but not of his movements in England. My request at this time is to ask ifyou recognise "my" relative John Wilton-if so I would like to seek your help further if not I thank you very much for your time. I would be very grateful if you would advise me if you have any record of the John Wilton listed above. Yours sincerely, Judy J.
