Note: Philippa (b.April 3, 1884 - d. Septemberr 22, 1978) the daughter of William and Catherine Wilton, grew up and resided on the Wilton homestead until her marriage in 1912. She was a staunch Methodist until church union in 1925, thereafter practising her beliefs as an active memeber of the United Church of Canada. Family of Wilton II; page 34 �b�Obituary in Winnipeg Free Press MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 25,1978 PHILIPPA GOHL �/b�On September 22, 1978 at Central Park Lodge, Poseidon Bay, Winnipeg, Mrs. Philippa (Wilton) Gohl. Mrs. Gohl was born in Roland, Manitoba in 1884. In 1912 she married Elijah Gohl. Mr. and Mrs. Gohl resided near Carroll until 1918 when they returned to Roland. In 1927 they moved to Boissevain and in 1943 to Winnipeg where she had since resided. Mrs. Gohl was predeceased by her husband in 1954 and a son, F/L James, in 1941. Surviving children are Alvin, of Vancouver, Gwendolyn (Mrs. T. C. Goodman) of Swan River, Muriel (Mrs. R. A. Wyman) of Ottawa, Ronald Kitchener and Katherine (Mrs. A. W. Lee) of Winnipeg. There are 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gohl was also predeceased by her parents, William and Catherine (Graham) Wilton, pioneer settlers of the Roland d i s t r i c t ; three brothers, Stanley, Thomas and William and two sisters, Margaret (Mrs. A. J. Lowe) and Jennie (Mrs. A. H. Gil- lon). Funeral service will bo held in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, Broadway at Furby, at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, the Rev. Dr. Reid E. Vipond of Westminster United Church officiating. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Roland Fairview Cemetery, Roland. The pallbearers will bo grandsons, Alex and Murray Goodman, Blair Gohl, Garfield Lee, and Jim Wyman. Flowers gratefully declined in favour of contributions to a charity of the friend's choice.
