a. Note:   Albert was born on the farm in the Roland district and attended Utopia one-room school and Roland High School. The first Provincial Boys' and Girls' Agricultural Club was organizedat Roland in 1913 and was later called a 4-H Club. Albert became an exhibitor in 1918. The first farm boys' provincial 4-H camp was held inBrandon at the Agricultural fair in 1924 at which time Albert was oneof three boys representing the Roland district. The Canadian NationalRailway (CNR) Robb Cup presented at the Toronto Royal Exhibition annually for the best swine demonstration (judging and demonstration) nationally was won by the Roland members in 1926 and 1927. In 1927, Alberthad the highest aggregate score for judging classes of livestock at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto.
