Wilton immigrated to Canada from England in 1852 according to the 1901 Canadian Census records. He would have been approximately 31 years old. I have conflicting evidence for Richard's birthdate. One source (Photo of Grave Marker at Woodstock Cemetery, engraving) says May 9, 1821 while Census Records indicate May 9, 1926. Again, I prefer the latter because of the information we obtained in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 1993. Richard was a farmer, attended the Church of England and was considered Episcopal - according to 1861 Canadian Census Records. Census records also indicated the Richard could read and write. At the time of the 1901 Canadian Census he was 76 years old and retired. A photograph in the Anglician Cemetery is in file of the Richard S. and Anna Bennett's cemetery marker. Exact location is believed to be in Woodstock, Ontario Canada. Richard and Anna settled in the Beachville and the St. Mary's area in the province of Ontario, Canada. They had eight children, see record in file. I found another place that suggested that Richard's date of death should be October 27, 1913 rather than October 25, 1913. Some of the information collected came from Jan Wilton Harvey, Robert Cameron Wilton's grand-daughter. The Harvey's live in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
