Notes
a. Note:   Daughter of James and Ann Stevenson, was born in the county of Down, Ireland, June 14, 1823. In 1847 she came to Canada with her parents and settled in the township of Percy, Ontario. In 1850 she was united in marriage to John Graham, with whom for a number of years she sharedhis joys and sorrows of life in the ministry of the M.E. Church in Canada. Her conversion to God took place in March, 1853, under the labors of Revs. J. Sweet and N. H. Howard. In 1880 Brother Graham and family came to Manitoba, and selected a home in 5-5, west. As pioneers they experienced some of the hardships connected with the early settlement of this country, but a kind providence, whose blessing ever attends honest industry, crowned their labors with success. Mrs. Graham was the mother of eight children, all of whom, with two exceptions, live to mourn her departure. It gave her greatjoy in closing hours of life, to know that all her sons and daughtersare serving God and members of the Methodist Church. She died in great peace at her own home on the 14th day of September, 1886. Ministering to the comfort of her daughter, who was suffering from typhoid fewer, she caught the disease, and , after three week's illness, passed away. She was preparing to go to Ontario, in company with her husband, who was a delegate to the General Conference, but was prevented by a call to join other loved ones beyond the "swellings of Jordan." She spent her last night on earth in earnest prayer, her soul fullytrusting in Jesus Christ. She is now in heaven. This is our consolation. Not in the smoke and din of earth's battlefield, but in the triumph and glory of God's eternal kingdom we shall meet her again. If testimony is ever borne to the power of the Gospel by the life anddeath of the saints, there is on the Carman Circuit a standing witness to the superior strength and glory of the Christian religion in thebeautiful and triumphant death of Margaret Graham. Her body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Pomeroy, to wait the resurrection of the just. Little Irish Andy Graham Family Tree. Page 6 CONC nc.), Database online.
