Elizabeth Hudlow 1797 In Rockingham County, Virginia married Thomas Hannah. She went to Logan County, Kentucky, with her two sisters and their families and there she received her inheritance and sold her portion to Jacob Kyger in 1818 - Logan County records. "Know all men by these presents, that we, John Perky, Henry Hook and Nicholas Troubaugh and Henry Pence are held firmly bound to William Hale, William Herring, Josiah Davidson, and James Dyer, gents Justices of the Court of Rockingham County fitting in the sum of 1,000 pounds -- to administer on the Last Will and Testament of Andrew Hudlow, deceased. "Know all men by these presents that we John Hudlow and Jacob Leigh are firmly bound to the Justices of Rockingham Court in the sum of 200 pounds to administer on the Last Will and Testament of Mary Hudlow, deceased. Signed Jacob Hudlow Jacob Leigh" "Know all men by these presents that we, Henry Perky, John Carthare, and Henry Pence are held firmly bound unto Andrew Shanklin and John Ewin, Justices, in the sum of 500 pounds to administer on the Estate of Susanna Hudlow, deceased, 18 November 1806. "The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Henry Cook shall administer and shall pay and deliver or cause to be delivered unto Magdalene Hudlow, orphan of Andrew Hudlow, deceased. May 1788. "Barbara Hudlow, orphan of said Andrew Hudlow deceased shall have such estate which is due said orphan when and as soon as she shall attain lawful Age 23 July 1791. "Know all men that we Henry Perkey and John Cartharae are bound to pay to cause to be paid to the orphans of Jacob Hudlow such estate as shall be due them as soon as they attain their legal age. Jacob, Anna, Elizabeth, Catharine, Barbara, Margaret, George, and Mary, orphans of Jacob Hudlow, deceased as soon as they shall attain lawful age, by William Troubough. "William Troubaugh shall cause to be paid unto Susanna, orphan of Jacob Hudlow, deceased, such estate as soon as she shall attain legal age. 15 April 1806." I offer proof that Anna and Suanna were sisters: "This indenture made this 19th day of September on the year 1814 between George Mefford and Anna his wife. Late Anna Hudlow, of the now county of Logan and State of Kentucky., of the one part and Jacob Kyger of the county of Rockingham, and State of Virginia of the other part. "Witnesseth that the said George Mefford and his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $1.00 lawful money in Virginia., to them paid in hand by the said Jacob Kyger, the receipt whereof acknowledged, hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Jacob Kyger and his heirs and assigns forever all the right and interest of an in their one ninth undivided portion of 260 acres of land lying in and being in the County of Rockingham and State of Virginia., on the north east side of the north fork of the Shenandoah which descended unto them by death of Jacob Hudlow, father, having departed this life intestate whereby the land descended unto his children there being nine of them, which land was devised unto the said Jacob Hudlow, deceased, by the will of his father Andrew Hudlow. "Testament by record of the said County of Rockingham County, Virginia., together with all and singular of the appurtenances then belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold said undivided one ninth part of the said tract of land. "At court held for Logan County, State of Kentucky." Susan and Jacob also received their one ninth part and sold to Jacob Kyger.
