By 1906, William Sr and his family was living in East Liverpool, OH According to Certificate of Death, Columbian a Co., Registration District 228, File No. 64005: Lived in East Liverpool 2 3 years prior to death. Lived 87 years, 11 months, 5 days. Was a retired Carp enter. His residence at time of death was 1037 Ohio Street, East Liverpool. This information was provided by "Jas. C. SWAN, 88, VETERAN, DIES East End Man Succumbs to Illness of Several Years--Funeral Set for Saturday William Levi Swan, 88, Civil war veteran, and one of 13 remaining members o f General Lyon Post No. 14, G. A. R. died today at 4:15 a. m. in the home of his daughter, Mrs, J. C. Clemensen, at 1637 Ohio Avenue, from complications a fter several years' illness. He was born in Athens County and has lived in Eas t Liverpool for about 25 years. He was a carpenter by trade. Swan leaves th ree sons, Lawrence L., East Liverpool; Charles of Salem, Or., and W. A. of Ed inberg, Pa; two daughters, Mrs. J. C. Clemensen of East Liverpool and Mrs. A. D. Osborne of Newell, W.Va; and one brother, George W. Swan of Germantown, O . Eleven grandchildren also survive. Swan enlisted in the Civil War in 1862 i n Company G., 92nd regiment of Ohio, volunteer infantry, and served three yea rs until the end of the war under Gen. F. H. Lohring. He was discharged July 10, 1865. Chief among the battles in which he was engaged were: Sherman's march to the sea, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Lookout Mountain, Missionary Rid ge, Kennesaw Mountain and Hoover's Gap. Funeral services will be held in the home in Ohio Avenue Saturday in charge of Rev. F. A. Dean, pastor of the Sec ond Presbyterian Church. Burial will be made in Riverview cemetery. Friends are asked to callat the home Friday night. Buried in Section 5, Lot 269 D
