a. Note:   In 1850 John R. is living with a Jacob and Mary Pritchard family. Jacob is 29 and a blacksmith, Mary is 23, John P. is 8, Thomas is 6 and Almira is 4. This is Lewis Ct., W.Va. John R. is 21, born in Va. In 1853 in Lewis Ct. he marries Levenia Pritchard daughter of Nathanial. In 1853 John R. and Levenia lose a child, Mary Ellen, 1Y 7M in Lewis Ct. In 1860 John and Levenia are in Harrison Ct. John is 30, labor, born Va.; Lavenia is 23, born Va., Martha A. is 3 and Florence E. is 1. On his son Daniel's birth record on 1868, John is a miller. In 1870 John R. is 43, an engineer; Lavinia is 33; Martha is 13; Florence is 11; Thomas J. is 5 and Daniel C. is 2. The family lives in theSimpson T.P. of Harrison Ct. Pg 14 taken Oct. 31, 1870. In 1880 they are in Simpson Dist., Harrison Ct., W.Va. John is 50, works in factory; Levenia is 42, Florence E. is 20; Thomas J.J. is 14 and Clarence is 13 they all work in a factory; Ivey M. is 3 and Ernest is 10/12-July. On his daughter, Iva's birth record of 1877, John is a school teacher. On his son Ernest birth record of 1879, John is a laborer. On his son, Charles' birth record he is and engineer. In 1900 the family is in Parkersburg, Wood Ct., W. Va. John R. born July 22, 1827 is 77; Levenia born Feb. 1838 is 62; John Ernest born Jul1879 in Bridgeport, Harrison Ct. is 20; Charles W. born May 1882 is 18. In 1910 John and Levina are living with their daughter, Iva Wise. John is 82, Levina is 72, they have been married 63 years. John is listed in the 1912 Parkersburg Directory. He and Levinia ar boarders at 1729 E. 7th St. The address of their daughter, Iva Wise. In 1920 Levina is a widow living with her daughter, Iva Wise. She is 81 years old. Levina died in 1922 in Bridgeport, Harrison, W.Va. She was 84 years and 11 months old. Info given by F. B. Keslio. She had heart disease and died of Pneumonia. John and Levina are buried at the MT. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg.His marker says 1828-1914 and hers 1838-1922. They are in Sec. L. # 268, grave 1 and 2. The cemetery records show he was buried on March 23, 1915 and she on January 31, 1922. In a letter by his son, Charles William his middle name is Ryan. In aletter by his granddaughter, Willa the daughter of Thomas his middle name is Riley. She also says the Helmicks were Hessian soldiers, 4 brothers who stayed in the country after the Revolution and married. She says 2 of John's brothers started an Iron Foundry in Fairmont, Marion,W.Va. Another brother was a captain in the Union Army and one brotherwas known as "The Old Squire" as a child. John's sister Virginia never married. His brother Clarence lived in Penn and had 4 children. A brother, Ernest and a sister Iva Wise, Florence Kester and Martha Fitzhugh all in W.Va. She says John was a school teacher and so was her grandfather Potter. Jacob Prichard is found in the 1860 and 1870 census of Harrison Ct. Inscriptions in Mt. Olivet Cemetery: John R.
