Note: Romulus was a school teacher and preacher. He chose teaching as a profession for most of his life, but became a Baptist preacher toward the end. He was reported to be a very stern man, and he valued an education above almost anything else. He favored his children that obtained higher educations. He once noticed his daughter (probably Lenora), who had grown a bit chubby, and accused her of being pregnant. This so enraged her that she never spoke to her father again.
