Notes
a. Note:   Dear Sue,
Now that I've had a shufty at your tree I can see the connection. Thomas 1745 Tapping's
son John(your line) moved to where his wife came from ie Amersham
 whereasThomas Tapping 1778
(my line) stayed put and married Mary Syred etc. etc. According to one David
Collinson(a contact of mine) he had which for the 18th century would make him quite well
off. There is a word for it but I cannot bring it to mind. It means th
the eldest son keeps all when his Sire dies thus keeping the estate intact.
This could also be a reason for John's move and Thomas's staying put.
Regarding the Rogers side of the equation I think that it is just a coincidence that your name is the same as my GGrandmother's maiden
name. I am hoping to make a 'phone call later to try and find my mum's
cousin's surname. He wrote to me when mum died and I still have the letter
so I no where he lived in May, 1973 which should make it easy to find on the
electoral rolls for that year. With your Rogers being Ozzie nationals for so
long I think it hardly likely for there to be any connection.
Years ago in the early days of my marriage I visited Beconscot.
What has that got to do with me? I hear you say. You refer to Beaconsfield
in your notes; A long time ago someone
built a model village on a rubbish tip. It is a marvellous peice of work and
 attracts visitors from all over
and has done for almost a century. I have in my PC collection one of th
attraction so as soon as I put it on my laptop I'll send it to you.
I have another friend in Brissie whose ancestors first settl there in the 1850's. She has an Ann Bates who married a John Weedon at
Hardwick, Bucks. Our Ann Bates was married Thomas
Tapping 1745 at Ellesborough, Bucks. It turns out that these two places lay
2.5m either side of Aylesbury so she wonders if they could be related. It's
an impossible task to find an answer as this sort of thing does not normally
 get recorded.
Itis 0050 here so I'll wrap up for now.You take care with winter
coming on and all the problems even if the temperature does not go so low as
here no doubt Mother Nature has some surprises up her sleeve!
Best Regards Jack ps I hope you don't keep me waiting so long this time.
