Note: Joseph Lucas Called By Death Surname: Lucas Given name: Joseph Date of record: Friday, April 24, 1963 Source: Glidden Enterprise, Glidden, WI Joseph Lucas, 68, a life long resident of this community died at St. Joseph's Hospital at Ashland on Wednesday, April 17, and funeral services were held here on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services were held at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Theo. Lesniak reading the requiem Mass. Interment was made in the family lot of the Most Precious Blood cemetery. Joseph Lucas was born in Glidden on December 26, 1894, and spent his entire life here. He was united in marriage to Miss Lena Pohl in Glidden. She preceeded him in death in 1959. He had been in ill health for the past month, as a result of an accident suffered working in the woods. Hospitalized then, his condition failed to im- prove and resulted in his death. He was a logger all his life in the Glidden area. He was a member of the Most Precious Blood Church and the Holy Name Society. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Jocewicz of San Mateo, CA; and three sons, Clarence of Webster, Norman of Glidden, and Gerald of Ashland. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Ralph Lomos, Mrs. Michael Fisher and Mrs. Wesley Upton, of Mellen, and Mrs. William Anderson of Montreal, WI, and 14 grandchildren. ______________________________________________________________ Notes as written in the Most Precious Blood Parish Records transcribed on March 12, 1990 by Nancy V.
