Notes
a. Note:   Obituary from Glidden Enterprise, Glidden, WI Dated: Friday, August 9, 1929 Philip Pohl Dies Suddenly Today Philip Pohl, well-known and respected citizen of this community for the past thirty-five years died suddenly this morning from heart failure. Mr. Pohl had been troubled with this affliction for several years. This morning while turning the cream separator he dropped over and before anyone could reach him he was dead. Mr. Pohl came to this country in June, 1892, and was one of the pioneers who braved the struggles of making a home in a wilderness. Through his hard work he had made a nice farm home and reared a family of twelve children. This family circle was broken for the first time last fall when his son, Frank was killed while hunting. The members of the family who survive him are his bereft widow, seven sons, Casper, Philip, Joseph, George, Jacob, Conrad and Peter, and four daughters, Mrs. Joe Lucas, Miss Laura, Mrs. John Almli of Pequaming, Mich. and Mrs.. Droppps, of St. Paul, Minn. They are deeply sympathized with in this sad hour. Mr. Pohl was a native of Lorch, Rhein Province, Germany. The funeral will be held from the Catholic Church Monday.
