Note:   Obituary from Glidden Enterprise, Glidden, WI Friday, February 20, 1942 Mrs. Laura Pohl Mrs. Laura Pohl, long resident of this community, died at her home here, Sunday, February 15, at the age of 76 years, seven months and 14 days. She had been ill but a short time, about two weeks, suffering with a heart affliction. Mrs. Pohl was born at Lorch, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Becker, June 21, 1865. Her early life was spent there. She was married in Lorch, Germany to Phillip Pohl, and they came to America in 1893. They came direct to Glidden and this has since been her home. Mr. Pohl preceded her in death several years ago. They made their home on a farm southwest of this village where a large family of children were reared, all of whom, excepting a son, who died in early youth, mourn her death. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Lucas and Miss Laura Pohl, Glidden; Mrs. Kate Almli, Pequaming, Mich., and Mrs. Elizabeth Dropps of Park Falls; and seven sons, Jacob, George, Peter, Casper and Joseph of Glidden, Phillip of Cook, Minn., and Conrad of Park Falls. There are also 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pohl was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church, and the funeral was held from the Most Precious Blood church in this village on Thursday forenoon, with Rev. Father Schank officiating at the requiem mass. The pall- bearers were Joseph Eineichner, Sr., Conrad Mohr, Paul Bluemel, Melvin Nelson, Peter Stoltz and Joe Jocewicz. Those from out of town to attend the funeral were Mrs. Kate Almli and John Almli, Jr., Pequaming, Mich., Phillip Pohl and daughter, Miss Lorraine, Cook, Minn., Mrs. Elizabeth Dropps, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Pohl, Mrs. Alvin Tanner, of Park Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jocewicz and Mrs. Eva Jocewicz of Ashland.
