Jim Sloan." Obituary Richfield Reper 27 Jan 1966 Joseph B. Tate / Marysvale-Funeral services for Joseph Branch Tate, 82, Marysvale Methodist Church, officiating. He was born Oct 20, 1883 in Marysvale, to DeWitt Clinton and Sena Jensen Tate. He was named first marshal of Marysvale when the town was incorporated in 1914. The same year, he acquired a ranch in the area and continued farming an ranching activities until last August. In 1932, Mr. Tate was named to a second four year term as marshal. Mr. Tate was active in the mining industry, first working in the mines in Marysvale at the age of 17. He worked in most of the famous mines in the intermountain region before acquiring his ranching property in 1914. He continued his mining activities in the Marysvale area after he began ranching there. He married Margaret Merrill Oct. 20, 1910 in Junction. Survivors include his widow; son and daughter, Arnold Tate, Mrs. Irene Elder, all Marysvale; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers and sister etc. IGI
