Odessa G. BELL, 77, of 830 West Liberty street, Springfield, died Tuesday, February 20, 1990 at 4:30 p.m. in Mercy Medical Center. She was born on February 18, 1913 in Mt. Airy, North Carolina; the daughter of James and Isabella HUGHES. Mrs. BELL was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she belonged to Circle Number 2, and was an honorary member of the Senior Usher Board. Survivors include one daughter, Katherine UPSHAW of Springfield; her stepmother, Earline TATE of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two sisters, Lillian DALTON and Sue TATE, both of Winston-Salem; two brothers, John TATE of Florida and Charles TATE of Winston-Salem, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Her body was taken to the Dennis L. Porter Funeral Home. Interment in Ferncliff Cemetery.
