Note: When Merle born, his family lived in a house on West Chamberlin, in an unincorporated part of Dixon, Lee County, IL. At some point the family moved to Morrilton, Conway County, AR, and possibly later to Vincennes, Knox County, IN. They moved back to Dixon, as Merle attended high school in Dixon. 1920 census Dixon Twp, Lee County, IL with father "Bradford," mother Leona and brothers Elwin, age 14; and Carroll, age 8. In the early 1930's Merle and his wife Marion (Henderson) Davis were living on Harriet Street in Aurora, Kane County, IL. By 1937 or before, Merle and Marion, and children were living with his parents (Sobieski) Brad and Leona (Parker) Davis at their home at 411 Woodlawn, Aurora, Kane County, IL. Merle maintained this home as his residence until his death in 1976.
