Per one of his grandchildren, a teacher called him Sobie. Indiana 1870 Koskuisko, Ind. census information shows his first name was Sobiesk; second probably must be Bradford. 1870 Census, Pierceton, Koskuisko County, Indiana, living with father Harden (mislabeled Theodore F.) Davis, Sarah Jane (Moyston) Davis, brother (John) Robert Davis, and sister Caroline Davis. 1900 Census, Dixon Twp (excluding Dixon City), Lee County, IL, living with mother Sarah Jane (Moyston) Davis, brother John Robert, and sisters, Carolyn and Della. Brother Colewood Thomas Davis lives 4 places away, with wife Lizzie, and children Leona and Owen. Sometime between 1906 and 1920 the family moved to Alabama, as well as Hobart, Indiana. 1920 census Dixon Twp, Lee County, IL listed as Bradford, with wife Leona, sons Merle, age 16; Elwin, age 14; and Carroll, age 8. Working in "wire factory." 1937 completed (Deed January 1938, Pg 235; 1076) final purchase on property located on Lot 2, Bl 2, in Marshall's Addition in Aurora, IL, also known as 411 Woodlawn. The property was purchased from Joseph and Doris Dietz, deed completed in California by Doris for $1.00. Brad and Leona had been living in the property for some time unknown before that. Their son Merle and his wife Marion (Henderson) moved into house to care for Merle's parents Brad and Leona sometime before 1937. Brad was a carpenter. At one time he was the on-staff carpenter for Mooseheart in Batavia, IL. Later in life, Brad lost a leg either Diabeties or an infection from a ingrown toe nail.
