Note: THE CINCINNATI ENQUIRER 2006. WILCOX, Helen Rose, beloved wife of the late Albert J.; loving mother of Thomas A. (Rose) of Phoenix AZ; dear aunt of Mary Grote. Helen passed away Sunday March 5, 2006, age 95. Graveside services will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens Friday March 10, 2006 at 10 am. HELEN WILCOX-RESIDENT OF THE MONTH AT JUDSON CARE CENTER 2005 Helen Wilcox was born Nov. 11, 1910. She grew up in N. College Hill and attended St. Claire School. She attended St. Margaret Mary Church and school. When she was 15 yrs. old, she worked for Victor Lamp Co. Then she worked for Crosley's(they made radios but her mother made her quit). Then for 13 years she worked for Krogers on an assembly line, weighing food. During VWII, she worked at Wrights (a machine shop that made parts for the war). She worked the graveyard shift. One of Helen's favorite memories is playing for a small band that consisted of three older young men that played the saxophone, banjo & drum. At first Helen was not permitted by her father to join the band until he met the young men and made them promise to take care of her. Helen enjoyed playing the piano and got the chance to play for a large crowd. Helen married Albert Wilcox and "he spoiled me, he did everything for me." He was a wonderful man and they were married for 60 years. Helen is very proud of her brother Augus(a home builder) and her son Thomas, who lives in Arizona. She has 2 wonderful friends Pat & Mary (her niece).
