Note: ) as his brother Henry and was mustered in at Louisville on April 6 (per military records in the National Archives). He too was a farmer from Williamsburg, and was relatively short at 5 feet 4 inches tall. He experienced about a year of rigorous service that included the Atlanta, Nashville, and Carolina campaigns and many battles. He went into a hospital on March 29, 1865 for undisclosed reasons. On May 24, he was issued a disability discharge via telegraphic order of the War Department A. G. O. The rest of the regiment was mustered out of service on July 15, 1865. There is no record that he ever applied for or received a pension. Ironically, the two brothers were in the same company at the same time for only about 5 weeks, as Henry was wounded on May 14, 1864. Thomas returned to Rockholds after the war and vouched for Henry's disability, then disappeared. It is possible, but unlikely, that he was the Thomas Taylor married to Kisirah (with children Elsworth, James, Charley and Loretta) recorded in the 1880 Pulaski census.
