  In Tyler Magazine Vol. 5 page 251 is the following: SIMON TAYLOR'S WILL dated 10 May, 1784. Witnessed by Simon Taylor, son of George Taylor, names wife Mary: daughter Rebecca Lee. *John, oldest son Simon, *Mary Ann, *Elizabeth, James and to my son Simon Taylor the plantation on which I live in Hampshire County, Virginia.
 ----------------------------------------------- *Mary Ann married Thomas Hough *John married 2-27-1760 Elizabeth Foreman or (Froman) *Elizabeth married --?-- Dudley. ----------------------------------------------- Simon Taylor (son of John Taylor and Hannah Harrison) married Mary Hite, 1759. She was the daughter of John Hite and the grand-daughter of Joist Hite from Strasbourg, Germany. The Hites bought a 40,000 acre tract in Virginia in the year of 1731. The family of Mary Hite is an old and honored one in Virginia.
 Justice Simon Taylor, Gentleman was from Richmond County came to Hampshire County before 1753 with Robert Parker; he was a part of the John Taylor Family of Northhumberland County, who was on the Wicomico Vestry with Hancock Lee I. and a justice of Northhumbland County 1711 with John Howson. In Richmond County Col. William Taylor died 1710 Adm. to John Taylor -- John Taylor was Sheriff 1714 Richmond County, and Simon Taylor had land 1718 adjoining Edward Jones. In Hampshire County, Virginia, Simon Taylor became a Justice in 1767 with Robert Parker and Enock Innis and lived near the mouth of Cacapeon River close to Enocks -- Just. 1770, 1772, 1778 had 6 fam. and 21 sI.
 His will, dated 3-1-84, pr. 3-14-1786 , gave to Rebecca Lee L50, to daughter Elizabeth Hite Dudley L50, and names sons and daughters: John, Simon, Mary Ann, James -- Witnesses: Absalom Hammond, Austin Smith Reeves, Simon Fields, Henry Carter and Simon Taylor, son of George Taylor. Exec. Robert Parker (5T251).
 The son John Taylor was a highly regarded Kentucky Scout, said to be equal to Simon Kenton of Fauq. County, the friend of both Captain Hancock Lee and Colonel Henry Lee.
 From McCormack's "Hampshire County Virginia" ---- states in 1787 Stephen Lee [ bought ] land from Thomas Clayton and wife. Surveys on Wappacome South branch of Potomac. Tyler Magazine Vol. 5 page 251 ----

  (Journals of the Council of State) Tuesday, November 26, 1776: "It being represented by the Court of Hampshire that SIMON TAYLOR and Job Wilton are proper persons to act as Coroners in that County. It is ordered that the Commissions issue appointing the accordingly."
