Interview with Claris Taylor at the Taylor family reunion in Crooksville Ohio:
Claris (age 76) told a story about the day John T. Taylor died. According to Claris, Hattie (Shaner) Taylor
recounted a story that on the day John T. Taylor died he was found near the road in front of the family farm on Buzzard Glory Road, sitting in his rocking chair holding Claris Taylor who was a baby at the time. Hattie called for one of her brothers who lived just next door to help her get John Taylor back to the house. Later they returned, and he had passed away while holding Claris Taylor.
According to Claris Taylor John T. Taylor and Sarah Emily Breese originally live on the land on Buzzard Glory Road in a log cabin. The cabin stood near where the grape arbor was in more recent generations.
After the children were a little larger they built the farm house on the land ( probably pre- 1900) and the cabin was torn down. The farm house is where Curtis Taylor and Hattie lived and raised their family. The farm house was burned down after their deaths.
The land is rolling hills and the setting was very pretty. My father (Robert E. Taylor) used to help his father farm the land. According to him it was very rocky soil and not an easy task.
