"Samuel Taylor died in his home in Solebury Township, just below New Hope, on Wednesday morning at 7 o'clock. He was one of the oldest men in the vicinity, having been born in Bucks County on November 11th, 1826. He was thus in his 82nd year of his age. Mr Taylor was a veteran of the Civil War. Enlisting in Company C, 104th Pennsylvania Volunteers, in September, 1861, he served with credit throughout the entire conflict and was honorably discharged from the service in June, 1864. He participated in all the battles in which his regiment was engaged and was seriously wounded in the battle of Fair Oaks. He married Margaret Freling, who survives him. He is also survived by one son, Jacob Taylor, who lives at home."
