Note: N189 Baptized by P. Brandell (Brandell was famous because he lived to be 100 and died on his birthday). In 1890 census listed as Israel Olofsson living in Solum, H�rn�sand with father, step mother & sibling. Certificate from king to move to N. America 30 Oct 1891(may obtain copy of this in National Archives in Stockholm). Moved to N. America on 10 Nov 1891. Changed last name from Olsson to Olson. Age 30, single, in 1900 census boarding with Charles Ericson at 1135 Homan Ave in Chicago as a machinist. Age 40 in 1910 census living at 3376 Hiawatha Ave, home owned but mortgaged, in Chicago as a machinist for rope works with wife, 3 children, niece Gudrun, sister-in-law Esther, and father-in-law Christian. Lived in Berwyn, IL when Verner was born. Went to Berwyn Baptist Church. Was listed in the Lemon Grove, San Diego County directory in 1913 & 1914 as a machinist. In 1915, Israel & Sigrid were living at 4448 Narragansett Ave, Ocean Beach (this is the same as Point Loma), San Diego. Israel was still working as a machinist. In 1917, Israel & Sigrid were living at 983 21st Av in Seattle, WA. Israel was working as a machinist. (downtown but east of I5; house still exists) In 1918, Israel & Sigrid were living at 3847 Woodlawn Av N, Seattle. Israel was a machinist. (Interlake region; have 2 photos, house no longer exists) Age 50 in 1920 census living at 64 Sierra Bonita Ave, Pasadena, CA as a machinist in a garage with wife, 4 children, sister-in-law Esther, and nephew Albert. Shortly thereafter, still in 1920, moved to 188 Harkness in Pasadena, CA (have photo). Age 60 (parents born Sweden) in 1930 census living at 188 Harkness Avenue, home owned and worth $11,000, in Pasadena, California as a machinist in a machine shop with wife & 2 daughters. From 1932-1939 lived at 1523 Corson Blvd. This house no longer exists as the land was purchased for the freeway. Built a house at 1405 North Sierra Bonita Ave that was finished in 1938. It was 1058 square feet with 2 bedrooms & 1 bath on a lot of 7522 sq ft. Israel & Sigrid moved there in 1939. Age 70 in 1940 census living at 88 South Daisy in Pasadena, CA as a house builder with wife. Their next residence was at 88 South Daisy in Pasedena. This house was ripped down and another larger house built on the property in 1964, so whether Israel built the house they lived in in 1940 or not is unknown. By 1942, Israel & Sigrid lived at 556 Eaton Dr in Pasadena. From 1943-1947, Sigrid & Israel lived at 110 South Craig Ave in Pasadena. It is a small house built behind 120 South Craig. With them lived Albert & Peggy Lou in 1947. Israel did build the house at 415 Del Rey Ave in Pasadena, completing it in 1947. It was 1117 sq ft with 2 bedrooms & 1 bath on a lot of 6218 sq ft. It was there that the family lived in 1948, 1949 & 1950. In 1950, Israel completed building a house at 177 West Montecito Ave in Sierra Madre, CA. It was 956 sq ft with 2 bedrooms & 1 bath on a lot of 7498 sq ft. (have a photo)
