a. Note:   Johannes Hering occupied the Temer-Herring Tract described hereinbefore under his father's family. By 1765 he had cleared 25 acres of his land. The total acreage no doubt was more than the 200 acres it was called when his estate was settledafter his son came of age in 1783. It was then appraised at 500 pounds in Pennsylvania currency, gold or silver, at which valuation the son accepted it. All of his daughters still being a minor and single.In an inventory of his personal property there is an item of 4 pounds, 12 shillings 9 pence "ready" money. The total appraisal was L305 3s. 9d. on Feb 18, 1778.
