Note: TORRINGTON Lucy Irene (Battistoni) Ricciardone, 95, of Sunny Lane, Torrington, Conn., died on Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Jacob Ricciardone and Anthony J. Fim iano.
Born May 14, 1914, in Litchfield, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Girolamo and Gilda (Dallavanzi) Battistoni. Lucy loved to bake and cook and throughout her life created dozens of wedding cake s and cookies for friends and family. She always looked forward to her next trip to the casino and loved her slots. In her earlier years, Lucy took great pride in washing and ironing clothes for sever al prominent Torrington citizens.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Famiglietti and Rosemarie Febbriello, both of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a son-in-law, Ralph Capuano of Torrington; three grandchildren, Mark A. Famiglietti and hi s wife, Nancy, of Torrington, Lucia Hastings of Maine, and Deena Konish and her husband, Mark, of North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Amanda Rose Konish and Adam Seifert; and several nieces and n ephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Capuano.
The funeral procession will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, from The LaPorta-Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, Conn., to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington , Conn., for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
