a. Note:   Henry Goodloe Johnston was born in Spotsylvania County, VA Friday, August 30, 1782, married Susan Wingfield Leake in Feb. 1806, moved to Mississippi 1810, landing at Walnut Hill now Vicksburg and settled near Clinton in Hinds County. He was elected Probate Judge of Hinds County for twenty consecutive years. He died at the home of his daughter near Lexington in Holmes County. He was honored and beloved by all who knew him and at his funeral high tribute was paid to his memory by the Masonic Fraternity of which he was member of the 33rd degree.
