Note:   From an unnamed newspaper clipping in the Price file Mrs. Alfred Messick Dies Washington, DC., Jan 12 On Sunday morning, January 6, 1929, at 2:30 o'clock, Elizabeth Frances [Biller] Messick wife of Alfred Messick, passed from this life after a short illness of pneumonia following influenza, at her home near Bristersburg VA. The deceased was born near Orkney Spring, Va., August 8, 1858 and was the daughter of Samuel and Bettie Biller. She was baptized into the membership of the Primitive Baptist Church a number of years ago. She was very much devoted to her church and pastor, and delighted to serve both in a Godly way. She possessed many lovely traits of character and was loving and devoted mother. She is survief by one sister-Mrs. Lydia Fulk, near Timberville, VA.; two daughters - Mrs. Lula Tussing who was with her during her sickness and death, Mrs. Ida Hinegardner, of Alexandria VA, sin sons,-- Paul of Timberville, VA, Lester of Washington DC, Vernon of Catlett Va, James, Ray and Glendon, at home. Funeral services were held from her home by Elder T. A. Alderton, and her body was laid to rest in the cemetery nearby. Her funeral was largely attended by sorrowing relatives and friends. May beautiful flowers adorned her grave.
