Note: Morning Star Lutheran Cemetary Road 263 West out of Mr. Jackson to 725 South to Hepner-Orkney Springs, Shenandoah VA. from an unnamed and undated newspaper clipping in the Pence file: "John R. Baker Dies "John R Baker, aged 68, died at his home near Cootes Store on Monday, January 30, 1938 after several years' illness with diabetes. At the time of his death he had reached the age of 68 years, 7 months and 6 days. "He was born on June 24, 1870. When 22 years of age, he united with the Morning Star Lutheran Church and remained a faithful member until death. He was united in marriage to miss Virginia Fadely, and to this union there were born five children. "Surviving are his widow; three daughters - Mrs. Ada Rinker, of Tiffin, Ohio; Mrs. Sarah Crist, of Columbus, Ohio; and Mrs. Minnie Ryan, of Hepners, VA; and a son, Paul Baker of Cootes Store, VA. a daughter, Emma died four years ago. Also surviving are three brothers - George of Timberville; Samuel, of Catlett, Va, and William of Salem, Mo; three sisters - Mrs. Agnes Sager, of Timberville; Miss Bettie Baker, of Elkton, VA; and mrs. Rebecca Frye of Hamburg; also 20 grandchildren. "Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning, February 1st, from the Morning Star Lutheran Church with the Rev. s. W. Berry of the Timberville Lutheran Charge officiating in the absence of his pastor. The Rev. S. d. Lindsay assisted at the funeral services. "Pallbearers were Messrs. Samuel J., Jacob R and Charles L Ryman, James Biller, Erasmus and Noah Hepner."
