Notes
a. Note:   She may have been adopted, or married a Lindenmuth (this statement from Bill Brobst's database, now Art Holmes). She went by her middle name Rebecca. I was told by Eleanora D.J. Brobst (nee Bachert) in an interview on May 30, 2003 at her home in Still Creek, Schuylkill Co, PA that John Albert's daughter-in-law Phoebe "Dora" and Harry adopted a girl named Rebecca Krantz. She was mistaken about it being Phoebe and Harry (maybe misheard me, it was Harry's parents John and Mary) but not about the adoption. Eleanora told me she believed this Rebecca was from a family that lived on a farm in Brandonville. I think she said (not sure as I did not jot it down) her family was killed in a fire and she had been the only survivor. She speculated it was way before 1930 that this adoption took place although this was rather fuzzy to her. Her niece Margaret Fegley (nee Brobst) confirmed this adoption but she thought her last name was "Kranch." This was incorrect that this child was Dora's unless I heard them wrong. John Albert and wife Mary Ann apparently adopted this girl according to evidence in son Harry Samuel Brobst's Death Notice. In Harry Samuel Brobst's Death Notice in the Hazleton Standard Sentinel, Tuesday Morning Ed., September 27, 1960, p. 8, it states that, "Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Kruntz, Reading." So, it was likely that her natural parents' name was Lindenmuth and she married a Kruntz (could be Krantz if it was misspelled in the Death Notice cited above).
