Last Will and Testament This is the last will and testament of me, Thomas D. Oxby of the town of Brockville in the county of Leeds formerly of the Township of Elizabethtown in said county Yeoman. 1. I give and devise my farm in the township of Elizabethtown to my wife Martha Oxby for and during her natural life and after her death I give and devise the same to my son Samuel Ernest Oxby subject to the payment by him to each of my six youngest children (that is to each of my other children save my eldest son) of the sum of three hundred dollars each such payments to be made as follows one each year commencing with the oldest and so on the first of such payments to be made one year after my wifes death. 2. I direct that the moneys coming from a certain policy of insurance in the Select Knights shall be applied as follows first in payment of all debts dues and demands owing by me including the mortgages now on the farm and including funeral and testamentary expenses and the balance thereof is to be paid to my said son Samuel Ernest. 3. I give and bequeath all my household furniture and articles to my wife absolutey. 4. I appoint my said wife and my brother-in-law John Haley Executors of this my Will. 5. In witness thereof I have set my hand thid twenty first day of January one thousand eight hundred and ninety five. (signed) Thomas D. Oxby Signed by the said Testor Thomas D. Oxby as and for his last Will and Testament in presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his sight and presence and presence of each other have set our hands as attesting Witnesses. Oxby, I hereby give and bequeath to my son William Henry Oxby the sum of three hundred dollars to be paid to him by my son Samuel Ernest Oxby one year after my wifes death and the same to be a charge on the land as the other legacies given in said Will, it being my intention that he shall have seven sums of three hundred dollars each to pay and the other legacies to my children given in said will being each positioned as to time of payment one year so as to leave William Henry's three hundred dollars to be paid first. In all other respects I confirm my said will. In Witness thereof I have set my hand this twenty second day of January A.D. 1895. (signed) Thomas D.
