Rayborn, states: "In March 1890 he was converted and united with the Methodist church, living a faithful Christian life till the time of his death. He was a loving, devoted father and husband and leaves a host of friends and relatives.........All of the children were present except Elmer, who is ill and was unable to come. Funeral services were held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at Trinity M. E. (Methodist Episcopal - now United Methodist. -WHR) Church, Rev. Roland E. Darrow officiating. Burial was at the old cemetery."
