  "The death of Mr. Thomas Coad, one of our former old-time citizens but now a resident of near Seattle Washington has just been announced. He removed from Grass Valley about [one] year ago.
 His Death was the result of Miners Consumption of which he was a great but patient sufferer. He was about 65 years of age. His funeral took place at his present residence.
 he is survived by a widow, a daughter, Miss Minnie, and two sons, Bert and Arthur who live in Washington and two sons, Thomas and Ray who live here. "

  "Mr. Thomas Coad died at his home in Bellevue, WA on thanksgiving Morning at 2:30 o'clock. The funeral took place from the family residence at two p.m. Saturday afternoon and was largely attended.
 Mr Coad and his wife went to Washington one year ago in hopes that it would benefit his ill health and be with a sister whom he had not seen for 27 years and who passed away one month after he arrived there.
 He was a resident of Colorado for 34 years and followed the occupation of miner for a number of years.
 Mr Coad was of quiet disposition, a kind husband and father and held the esteem of all who knew him.
 He was a member of the Methodist church of this city.
 Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, Thomas and Ray of this city,
 Bert and Arthur and one Daughter, Minnie of Bellevue, Wash, to mourn his loss."
