Note: Wesley's wife Peggie wrote, "Wesley C. Beery entered the service (U.S. Army) Jun 3 1943. His serial number was 37-347-364. He was a Technician, 5th Grade, Battery C, 838th Antiaircraft, Automatic Weapons Battalion. He received the American Theatre Ribbon, EAMET Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Ribbon. He was discharged at Ft. Leavenworth, KS on Apr 2 1946." Wesley said that he was in the American forces that invaded the south of France in 1944, and continued on through Germany and into Czechoslovakia. Widow Peggie Beery wrote, "Our sweet Wesley's ashes are in the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, New Mexico, Section 8 C, Grave 45 F. It is a beautiful spot on the top of the hill and there is a place for me when I join him."
