Note: Minerva was educated in the schools of Rich Hill, Mo, graduating from high school in 1914. She became Thomas County Treasurer in October, 1955, serving four years in this office. She was a Methodist. In July 1999, daughter Alice Woertendyke wrote: This list in Minerva's hand on an old church bulletin (Feb 25 1970) was recently found.. Born July 14, 1896 at Rich Hill Attended country school Moved to town 1902 Emersed in Burnett's Creek & joined M. Ch. 1910 Graduated from H.S. 1914 Employed at Western Union in K.C. Boarded with Osa Married 1919 Moved 5 times & had 4 babies in 8 years Moved to Colby 1927 Moved 7 times & had 3 more babies in 9 years Moved to Calif. in Dec 1943 Back to Colby June 1944 Worked at Free Press 1948-55 " " Treas. 1955-59 Moved to Raton June 1965 The funeral was at the Colby United Methodist Church; burial in the Griggs area of Beulah Cemetery.
