Note: Daughter Janice said she died of a broken heart after the GreatDepression hit them hard financially; however she did not dieuntil 1946.Obituary notice, Newark Evening News, 14 Jun 1946:"Mrs. Catherine Margaret Weinrich, wife of Herman Weinrich, diedyesterday after a long illness at her home, 449 Mt. Prospectavenue. She was born in Newark 57 years ago, a daughter of thelate Charles and Helen Kerrigan Blaich.Mrs. Weinrich also leaves a son, Lt. Charales H. of the Navy AirForces, stationed at Atlanta, and three daughters, Mrs. WilliamA. Keihm and Miss Helen R. Weinrich of Newark and Mrs. TemplePouncey of Cuero, Tex.The funeral will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Home for Services,160 Clinton avenue, with Rev. Dr. Charles L. Gomph, rector ofGrace Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in FairmountCemetery."In 1920, at age 36, she lived in boarding house with her family,the house kept by her aunt, Susan Kerrigan. Both of Katherine'sparents were born in New Jersey, as was Susan Kerrigan, but bothgrandparents on Catherine's mother's side were born in Ireland,as were Susan Kerrigan's parents. Also living with them in theboarding house in 1920 were Catherine's younger brother, Carl,and his wife, Anna, who listed themselves as professionalactors.
