He was the 8th child (out of 11) of Warren Alvin Thompson and Myrta Amanda Hall. He had 6 sisters and 4 brothers. His grandparents were Alvin Thompson (1815-1882)), Abigail Watrous (1818-1869), Edward Hall (1814-1878)and Elizabeth Miranda Fowler (1816-1891). His grandmother, Abigail Watrous Thompson died before he was born. June 30, 1878 - his grandfather, Edward Hall, died in North Guilford, CT. June 22, 1880 - he was listed as living with his family in North Guilford, CT. August 3, 1881 - his uncle, Clifford S. Thompson, aged 21, died from accidental gas (suffocation) from old fixings (valve's) at the McDonough (public) House in Middletown, CT October 10, 1882 - his grandfather, Alvin Thompson was struck and killed by a locomotive train while crossing the Neck River bridge (Madison) on his way home from the Westbrook fair. April 23, 1891 - his grandmother, Miranda Fowler Hall died in North Guilford, CT. January 14, 1896 Warren Thompson and Mabel Laura Clark were married by Henry Glover, Pastor of M.E. Church, Durham, CT. She was 17 and he was 20. He was of short height and stout build with Dark Brown Eyes and Mixed Gray Hair January 5, 1920 (census) - rented a house at 26 Hotchkiss Street in Middletown, CT with his wife, sons Warren, Clarence and Elmer, and a boarder Charles Fieletore (age 18. He was born in CT, parents from Italy). Reuben, his son Warren and Charles all worked as laborers in an Ice House. January 26, 1929, Reuben Thompson, 64 years old, dropped dead at 12:45 in the rear of James P. Wrang's Quality Lunch. It was said that he had been drinking heavily. (I recall seeing another article which disputes this - will have to find). He is buried at the Durham Cemetery behind the Town Hall. There was no grave marker for him and his family. I petitioned the town of Durham to be allowed placement of family headstone, which was permitted. Thompson The sudden death of Reuben Edgar Thompson, 50, took place on Tuesday of last week in Middletown. The funeral was held in Durham on the follow Friday. Reuben E. Thompson was born in North Guilford, one of the eleven children of Warren Thompson and his wife, Myrta Hall. He is survived by his wife and five sons, Whitney Thompson of Guilford, Kenneth Thompson of Durham, Warren, Clarence and Elmer Thompson of Middletown; also one grandchild (Jean Thompson). Nine brothers and sisters are living, Edward Thompson of North Haven, Ira Thompson of North Branford, Mrs. Getrude Lane of North Guilford, Mrs. Abbie Rich and Mrs. Lena Atwell of Durham, Mrs. Della Barker of Branford, Mrs. Eva Farnham of West Haven, Mrs. Bertha Ryan and Clifford Thompson of Durham.
