Notes
a. Note:   Charles Frederick William was born on December 28, 1848 to Charles and Jane Garner, according to his marriage certificate. We have not been able to find documentation for his country of birth. Ada Elizabeth Weston was born on March 21, 1864 in Northampton, Northamptonshire, the youngest of five children (3 who survived to adulthood) born to Robert Weston and Barbara Kemp Kirby. Ada's father was a shoemaker, following in the footsteps of many of his ancestors. When Ada was just four years old, her mother died (Nov. 10, 1868). Her father remarried less than a year later (Aug. 16, 1869) to Mary Ann Warwick, widow of William Jordan. Shortly after their marriage, Robert moved the family (which included Ada and her brother, Albert, and Emma, Mary Ann's daughter from her first marriage) to Warwickshire, the county of his new wife's birth. Two of Robert and Mary Ann's children were born in Leamington, Warwickshire. The family then moved back to Northampton, where two more children were born. Misfortune struck the family when Robert died on Sept. 25, 1883, leaving Mary Ann a widow for the second time with five young children. By this time Albert and Ada were no longer living with the family - Albert was working as a footman at a Rug Mansion in Wales; Ada was living in West Haddon, Northamptonshire, working as a servant for the Rev. Fairfield and his wife.
