Notes
a. Note:   Shoemaker at the time of his sons' baptism. Charles & Henry were both baptised same day in St Margaret's, Barking. Possibly twins? Thomas was listed as a Cordwainer in 1845, and was still alive, at the time of Henry's marriage in 1845. Pigots Directory c1827-8 records Thomas Coultas as a boot & shoe maker in Barking/East Ham. His daughter Eliza was baptised in St Botolph Without, Aldgate, London on 11 Dec. 1812. IGI ref: C025558.
St. Margarets church records covering baptisms 1558-1812 show a Thomas Coultas son of John and Elizabeth born 14th August 1785; baptised 28th august. Other children of John & Elizabeth were Joseph baptised 15/8/1795, James, Oct 10 1792, William 10 Jan 1790 and John 4 Feb 1788. As at today 24/12/2005 I feel that pending certificates from Geoff Humphreys & or Maddy Todd, it is a fair assumption that we have finally found our Thomas... Therefore I have expanded the tree accordingly pending that final proof.
At his death in the Romford Union Workhouse gave his age at 63, which ties in with his birthdate in 1785.
