Note: Land Patent: No. 1005, 1855 "Whereas Albert S. TEDMAN, of Fillmore County, Minnesota, has deposited in the General Land Office of the United States, a Certificate of the Register of the Land Office at Brownsville, whereby it appears that full payment has been made by the said Albert S. TEDMAN according to the provisions of the Act of Congress of the 24th April 1820, entitled "An act making further provision for the sale of the Public Lands", for the west half of the north west quarter, of Section eight, in the Township one hundred and three, of Range twelve west, in the District of Lands subject to sale at Brownsville, Minnesota, containing eighty acres......granted..... unto the said Albert S. TEDMAN and to his heirs and assigns forever. Dated the fifteenth day of October....one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five. Franklin PIERCE, President of the United States of America. City of Washington." (Source: Bureau of Land Management) There was a further Land Patent in 1857, in Sumner twp., Fillmore County, MN, which mentioned his daughter Augusta, then aged 4 years. (USGenWeb Land Record Index). 80 acres, W, NW. There was no TEDMAN enlisted in the Minnesota muster book. Albert was not listed in the 1865 Census, but Emma was in Jordan twp, with Mary A. MAIN.
