  My Grandfather George Howe Immigrated to America from Whitehaven County of Cumberland England, Sometime before the War of 1776, Who ran away from College, in Company with another young Man, Who freightened & returned to his Home before leaving England, took a Ship for America, Landed at Groton Bank, Married Mary Hilliard and had four children, To Wit - Thomas Howe, George, Nancy, & Ambrose, before the war ended He returned to England & on his way back to America, The Ship was lost & He was never heard of, Thomas Howe married Sallie Luther Daughter of Barney Luther, of Warren Rhode Island, The Mother of Sallie Luther was an Easterbrook, Mary Hilliard Oldest Sister Catherine, Married Jeremiah Haley, Mary Hilliard Married George Howe, Amborse Hilliard Married Thomas Woodward, Alexander Hilliard Married Caleb Woodward, Desire Hilliard Married a Tinker (?)
