a. Note:   are in fact brothers and sisters, the following facts lend support tothis surmise. On Mar 17, 1775, James Templeton, Robert Templeton,Martha Templeton, Agnes Templeton all received land grants on
 Duncan's Creek and the Enoree River. In 1786 and again in 1793. DavidTempleton was given grants of land on Duncan's Creek and Joining theland of Robert Templeton. Although no record of land grants have beenfound for John Templeton, there are other records to indicate he livedin Laurens County, along with the others, until he migrated , in 1804to Indiana, with Robert Templeton. On Sept 23, 1785, James Templetonand Robert Templeton signed a paper authorizing Robert Hanna tocollect there pay for military services in the South Carolina Militiaduring the War for Independence. On Sep 26, just three days later,David Templeton signed as similar paper. David Templeton, JamesTempleton and Robert Templeton all served in the South CarolinaMilitia during the Revolutionary War. These services are recorded inthe South Carolina Historical Commission office in Columbia, SC.
