Note: In 1910, Hermon, age 2, born in Tennessee, was living with his parents in District 4, Claiborne Co., TN. In 1920, Hermon, age 12, was still living with his family in District 4; he attended school that year. In 1930, Herman, age 23, and Una, age 20, were living in District 4, Quarter Precinct, in Claiborne County. They gave their ages at the time of their marriage as 21 and 17 respectively. They had one daughter. Hermon was a farm laborer; he lived next door to his grandmother, Mildred Reed, possibly in a house she owned. He rented his home for $50.00 a month. Sometime in the 1930's, Hermon moved his family to Maryland so that he could find work. He and Una raised their daughters and lived out the rest of their lives there. They are buried at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in West Friendship, Howard Co., MD.
