Notes
a. Note:   1850 - listed as a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church in March 1850. Age 18. In 1850 when Martha was 12 , Richard Hill - her brother - was appointed her guardian. (Have copy of document from Williamson County) According to County records, an ExParte Petition was filed for Martha E. Hill, a minor 12 years old, by Richard Hill, her guardian. It is recorded in Williamson County Court Minute Book 16, page 284, April Term 1850. The petition says she was the daughter of William Hill and filing for her 1/6 interest in the 'rent' of a slave named Ephraim, as provided by the Will of Green Hill for his grandchildren (not named). Also the guardianship was transferred from Williamson County to Haywood County. (Prior to Richard's guardianship, Jabez Owen was Guardian for Martha, as well as all William's children). NOTE: These documents listed her age as 12 but I do not know why as she was listed living at home in 1850 and her age was 20, which is more in line with records found later. Also, her grandfather named 6 children of William - Martha wasn't born until after he died in1826. ?? __________________________________ On the 1850 Census records for Haywood County, Tennessee, Martha is listed as living with William and Nancy; her age is 20. 1860 - Married, age 30 (see Egbert Blakemore) 1870 - See Egbert Blakemore 1880 - See Egbert Blakemore 1900 - See Egbert Blakemore 1910 - 1918 - Died - buried near her sister, Catherine Hill McMahen. She had no children.
