The West half of the South West Quarter of Section 33 in Twp 15 - of Range 3 - in the District of Brookville and State of Indiana, containing 80 acres. Deed Record, Lands, N page 38, Jan 21, 1841, record 27 Sep 1841, James Stevens and (Warranty Deed) Dizy Stevens, his wife, to James Ferriter, his heirs and assigns. Six acres off of the NOrth East corner of the West half of the South West Quarter of Section 33 in Twp 15 - of Range 3 - in the District of lands subject to sale at Indianapolis. Said six acres to be so taken that it shall form a trip of equal width running the whole length of the NOrth East Quarter of the South West Quarter of Section 33 in Twp 15 North of Range 3 East. James Stevens died, testate, May 27, 1853 Will Record B page 428, probated June 10, 1853. James Stevens Will STATE OF INDIANA, MARION COUNTY, Perry Twp. April the SEventh day - the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and fifty three. I James Stevens of the State, County and Township above named, being in bad health but sound in mind, have this day expressed, and caused to be written down the following declaration concerning my worldly property both real and personal. Item the first, I desire and order my body interred in a decent manner, and my funeral expenses to be paid first. Item the second, I wish and desire that a head and foot stone be placed in a proper manner at the grave of Disey Stevens my departed wife, also a head and foot stone at my own grave-both sets to be sculptured out of marble with suitable engravings to be paid for out of my estate. Item the third, I wish and desire give and bequeath unto Disey Jane and Sarah Katherine Snow, heirs of Nancy Snow decd. the following described portion of land, Twelve & one third acres off the NOrth End of my tract (containing seventy four acres) and James Madison and Aaron Sulgrove twelve and one third acres off the same end making Twenty four and two third acres to be taken off the North end of said tract - the line to be drawn east and west to seperate the two lots of land, disey Jane and Sarah Katherine Snow to have the North end together with all the improvements thereon. Item the fourth I wish & desire give and bequeath unto Rebecca Jane Stevens my daughter twenty four and two third acres of land off the South end of said tract of land - together with all the buildings - orchard and other improvements thereon. I also give and bequeath unto the said Rebecca jane Stevens grtuishly one horse designeated by the name of Jack - one feather bed, stead and furniture; one cow exclusive of the property she now holds as her own she being of lawful age. Item the fifth. I wish and desire give and bequeath unto James Marada, George Washington, John William and Demas Linby Schoolcraft - heirs of Polly Ann Schoolcraft twenty four and two third acres of land - which will occupty the the middle space between the two first described portions together with all improvements thereon. Item the Sixth. I wish and desire thata ll the residue of my personal property be sold to the highest bidder, on a lawful time, and the money arising from such sale (after paying all cost and charges that myay accrue thereon, and other debts - specified in this my last will and testament) to be equally divided between the above named heirs. Now this my will wish and disire is not inteded to have any effect until after my decease. I appoint - Executor to attend to this my will and testament. James Stevens.
