Notes
a. Note:   Julia Belle Adams was born in 1886 in Beaver, MO. She first shows up in the 1900 Census of Pleasant Hill, Newton, AR, as the 14 year old daughter of Samuel & Margaret Adams. She married a man named Jacobson, probably in Olympia and had a daughter, Gladys born in Wash in 1906. We have a good picture of Julia, her husband, Jacobson, and daughter Gladys taken in about 1907 when Gladys was a baby. Sometime after 1907 and before 1910, Jacobson died. In the 1910 Census of Thurston Cty, WA, Julia is shown as a 23 year-old widow, with her 3 year-old daughte, Gladys Jacobson. They are living with her mother Margaret, a recent widow herself, for a short period in Olympia. Julia then married Amber Charley Rank, son of John & Mary Rank of Olympia on 31 Jan 1914. They evidently lived nearby Margaret, because her diary mentions visiting Julia often from 1914 to 1918. Julia "might have" had a son with Amber who became a lawyer in Seattle. The 1920 Census shows Julia and Amber Rank...... Julia died on 2 Dec 1932 at age 56. Amber Rank lived until April of 1947 and died at age 72. He and Julia are buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Shirley Jean's recollections of Julia: Julia lived in Olympia, and I remember her as being someone of means, of course we were poor, so she probably looked rich to us. She had a daughter Gladys and I think she had a son also that was an attorney in Seattle, I seem to remember Mother didn't like him much. Gladys had a daughter and the daughter had a couple of kids, but darn I can't remember their names. I know the daughter owned the Blue Moon cafe on I-5 down by Rochester.
