Note: This person is not yet validated as a relative. Cyrus did have a brother Dav id, according to Paul J.'s one sheet, hand drawn family tree diagram, ca. 1955. There is no proof that this David is one and the same. There is no proof that this person is the brother David of Cyrus, that Paul mentions, though Arth ur Cartwright believed so. We believe that Arthur (1926-1977) spoke to some of his grand aunts and uncles, most notably Judith, daughter of Cyrus, and that s he provided him with some family information. Note that Cyrus (David's nephe w) named one child after his father, George, one after himself, one after his m other, Judith and then: David, Richard, Nancy (Jenny) and Mary. It appears th at he may have named them after his aunts and uncles. This tends to further su pport David and Richard as children of George and Judith. David and his bro ther Richard migrated to Rye Valley, Baker County Oregon, an upstart mining com munity, following the Civil War, apparently to seek their fortunes. David a nd his brother were both married in Putnam County IN and also must have stopped for a time in IL where David's first son was born.
