a. Note:   Was born in Prussia, but his birth certificate indicates Z�rich, Switzerland.
 He lived in Switzerland until 1926 and then came to South West Africa (Namibia). He bought a farm near Omaruru, Namibia but had to give it up as a result of a thunderstorm that destroyed everything. On the 13 July 1934 he received the 'Ehrenkreuz f�r Frontk�mpfer'. During WWII he was 'interniert' near Koffiefontein. After WWII he became a 'caretaker' on the farm Kumakams near Maltah�he, Namibia.
